Hair

So here's my hair story. I would say my hair grows at an above average rate. I grow it out because I have all these hopes and dreams of styling it in all these fun ways. Once it gets long I get frustrated because it takes me so long to do. Then I chop it off. I love, I hate it, I deal with it. I try to style it but as it grows it hits my shoulders and flips out like I'm 12 years old. Yeah, that's my favorite look :::rolls eyes::: Then I remember I think I look better with it long so it grows back out and guess what, the cycle starts again. Am I the only one that does this? Here are some examples...

My birthday this year in July

So guess what part of the stage I am in right now...you guessed it...the growing it out stage. Ha! Will this cycle continue or will I find a length I like? I guess we will see!

San Francisco

San Francisco is such a fun and active city! There is so much to do, see and great places to eat! Tyler and I ran around like mad men doing all that we could in the 4 days we were there. Follow along as I share the photos of our journey...

FABULOUS trip and lots of new memories made.

Happy Anniversary to my best friend!

Napa

Oh Napa how I miss you already...

Napa is this little valley nestled between mountains and I learned that they are known for the Cabernet Sauvignons, which are indeed amazing. When you are driving into the area, you immediately see vineyards all around. Even the hotels had vineyards growing on their land.

Everywhere you look could be a picture on a magazine and we did take our fair share of photos. We did some "winery hopping" on Saturday and took advantage of going everywhere we could. The only thing I wish that would of been different is that only a few of the vineyards sold wine by the glass. We are used to the Texas wineries where you can do a tasting then have a glass (or two) of your favorite wine and relax and enjoy the views.

We chose to do a tour at the Castello di Amorosa by a recommendation of our friend Helen who was there not too long ago and we were SO happy that we did. This is a $55 million castle that was built in the 2000's and they got every detail right! We started at the castle courtyard and made our way all the way down into the dungeons. Our witty Italian guide (I want to note that since he was Italian it made our tour just perfect, he really knew his wine!) was great and made sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Like I said earlier, we "winery hopped" and here are the pictures from the rest of our day.

I highly recommend going to Napa for a special trip, it is everything you imagine it will be and more!

3 Year Anniversary Gift

Soo the hubs decided to give me my anniversary gift early this year and what a sweet surprise it was! I have been wanting to get a nice journal to take with us on our trips and document what we do. I have talked about buying one here and there, but have never found the right one for me.

Since we leave on Friday for California, he thought it would be best to give it to me before our anniversary (9/18) and I was completely shocked. It is a gorgeous thick milk chocolate leather and smells like the rich leather of new cowboy boots! I literally got tears in my eyes because it is perfect and everything I didn't know I wanted. He even picked out the delicate feminine page detailing. Just look at the dainty edges of the pages, I am in love!

I can't wait to start writing in it and I know it is something I will treasure for years to come. I even laid in bed last night thinking about how I was going to write the date at the top and which side I would put it on.

Swoooon, I love my husband. He is so good to me!

Weekend Getaway

Tyler and I love to travel, even if it is just a little weekend getaway. This weekened we headed out to La Torretta Resort in Lake Conroe and we had a blast! The pictures on their website are a little deceiving because  they are under construction so it does not look exactly the same...hate when that happens! But, all in all, we really enjoyed ourselves.

The first thing we did when we arrived on Friday was throw our bathing suits on and head down to the pools. We did the lazy river for a little while and even tried out their slides. I felt like a kid again doing the slides over and over and over all while wearing a big grin on my face! We chose not to eat at the resort because we passed a Sam's Boat on the way in that was right on the water and looked fun. Our table had a perfect view and we were right next to the band. Fun and romantic night!

On Saturday we went out to the golf course and Tyler helped me practice my chipping, putting and swing. He really is a great coach! It was a perfect overcast day with a little breeze. After that we headed over to play a round of putt putt. There was only one other couple so we had all the time in the world to goof off. Going down to the pools was an easy decision after being in the sun all day. We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging in the adults only pool and making new friends. The rum was a-flowin' and our Pandora was on just the right station.

We got up early this morning and had a delicious breakfast and headed back to the clubhouse for day 2 of golf lessons with my handsome hubby. I definitely am getting better but not sure I am ready for 18 holes quite yet. Tyler did tell me my patience might not be the best for golf...ha!
Lake Conroe was great but I can't wait for our trip to Napa and San Francisco for our anniversary next week!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

Pinterest

I'll be honest, I didn't jump on the Pinterest bandwagon right away. But when I had my wisdom teeth extracted last year (Halloween weekend as a matter of fact, what was I thinking?!) and I had a bunch of time to kill it was the perfect timing.

The first time I logged in, I didn't leave the page for 3 hours. THREE HOURS! I wish I was kidding...It's one of those things you get addicted to very quickly. I do love it though. I have made a ton of delicious unhealthy treats, DIY'd projects around the house, found outfit inspirations and even dedicated a board just to cute precious animals because they make me smile.

Here are some of my all time favorite pins:

Soo if you keep saying oh one day I will get a Pinterest or if you have been putting off getting back into it, just got for it! There is so much inspiration out there so no reason to try and reinvent the wheel!

What are your thoughts on Pinterest?
I am so thankful we finally have somewhere to save all our favorite pictures instead of cutting them out of magazines or having a thousand websites on my favorites bar!
